This placement is for students in an undergraduate or graduate program seeking a career in healthcare. The Medical Surgical Unit of Gritman Medical Center is an opportunity for our volunteers to get an in-depth patient exposure in a hospital setting. Some tasks of the Medical Surgical Unit will include but not limited to : - Working with the HUC (Heads Up Coordinator) and/or CNA checking stock via computer and filling material needs - Answering call lights and reporting to a staff member if it requires direct patient contact - Cleaning rooms of discharged patients and setting up rooms for new patients - Checking outdates -Rounding and visiting with patients *Clinical positions are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week with a preferable minimum of 4 hours and a strict maximum of 12 hours per day*

This placement is for students in an undergraduate or graduate program seeking a career in healthcare. Our Emergency Department is a fast paced environment for qualified volunteers chosen at staff discretion, this position has limited direct patient contact and some of the tasks that are included and not limited to are: - "flipping" / cleaning rooms of discharged patients - answering phones/listening to radios - restocking material - assembling kits - assisting CNA and other staff *Only one volunteer at a time in this department* **Department open for volunteering 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Scheduling suggestion is minimum of 4 hours and maximum of 12 hours** ***ALL Emergency room volunteers MUST be willing to be a 1 to 1 Mental Health Sitter***

Gritman Medical Center's Therapy Solutions is department encompassing a wide range of different therapy practices. Such specialties include speech therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and the wellness center. This placement is by INVITATION ONLY. This student MUST be enrolled in a higher education institute WHOSE INSTITUTE HAS A CORRESPONDING AGREEMENT WITH GRITMAN MEDICAL CENTER. All interns must have an applicable degree either finished or in progress focused towards the area of specialization per department. STUDENTS MAY NOT INDEPENDENTLY FILE FOR INTERNSHIP AND MUST HAVE ESTABLISHED POINT OF CONTACT (advisor, school rep., department head, etc.).

At Gritman, this is defined as a contract between a higher education institute, the student, and the preceptor. The advisor verification of contract requirements is more specifically an agreement between the department and education institute to meet required educational hours for applicable degrees.
