This placement is for students in an undergraduate or graduate program seeking a career in healthcare. This is a non-patient contact placement. This department only accepts one volunteer at a time and up to three per year. If you are interested in assisting with the day-to-day operations of this department, please reach out to volunteer@gritman.org with a letter of request and recommendation from your academic advisor.
To ensure smooth flow of operations in the Family Birthing Unit
All clinical volunteers should use charge nurse of department as primary point of contact while on shift (Primary)
All volunteers must immediately report any injury to their department shift supervisor and/or House Supervisor. If the volunteer is unable to work their scheduled shift they must notify their department by phone as soon as possible.
Violation of HIPPA or any safety policy will result in immediate termination. If the volunteer is unable to work their scheduled shift they must notify their department by phone as soon as possible. Failure to follow schedule including tardiness and/or missed shifts can result in termination.
