Gritman Medical Center
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS • This program is by invitation only. • The student must be enrolled in a higher education institution that has a formal agreement with Gritman Medical Center. • All interns must have an applicable degree—either completed or in progress—relevant to the department or area of specialization. • Students may not independently apply for an internship. • Interns must have an established point of contact, such as an advisor, school representative, or department head, who coordinates and verifies the placement. EXPECTATIONS • Follow all Gritman policies, including dress code, professional conduct, and safety protocols • Complete all required training, background checks, and vaccination verification before beginning the internship as per contract. • Maintain communication with both the department and institutional point of contact regarding progress, scheduling, and any concerns
• Provide structured, department-specific experience aligned with the student’s field of study • Foster professional development, practical skills, and exposure to hospital operations • Ensure the internship meets academic requirements while contributing meaningfully to Gritman operations

All volunteers must immediately report any injury to their department shift supervisor and/or the House Supervisor. Volunteers are expected to follow all safety protocols and guidelines to protect themselves, patients, staff, and visitors.
• Violation of HIPAA or any safety policy will result in immediate termination. • Failure to adhere to the schedule, dress code, or general volunteer expectations—including tardiness or missed shifts—may result in termination from the program. • Gritman reserves the right to terminate a volunteer at any time for failure to meet program requirements or maintain professional conduct.
